We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Female Brain Injury Support Worker to provide one-to-one support for an adult who sustained life-changing injuries following a road traffic accident.
This is a highly rewarding opportunity to support an individual living with the physical, cognitive, communication, and psychological effects of an acquired brain injury while helping them maintain independence and enjoy meaningful activities in the community.
About the Client
Our client sustained multiple injuries following a serious road traffic accident and now lives with an acquired brain injury (ABI), reduced mobility, chronic pain, shortness of breath, dysphasia affecting communication, hearing loss, dental injuries, cognitive and psychological challenges, and reduced independence with some activities of daily living.
Despite these challenges, they enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle and spending time in the community. They regularly attend day centres, enjoy trips to the cinema, visits with family members, and enjoys getting out and about.
Due to the personal care requirements of this role, there is a genuine occupational requirement for a Female Support Worker.
Key Responsibilities
As a Female Complex Care Support Worker, you will:
- Deliver person-centred one-to-one support
- Assist with personal care and daily living activities
- Support mobility and safe movement
- Administer medication in line with care plans and training
- Provide emotional support and companionship
- Support communication and social engagement
- Accompany the client to day centres, appointments, family visits, and community outings
- Encourage independence and promote wellbeing
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation
- Monitor and report any changes in health, wellbeing, or behaviour
- Work collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals
Skills & Experience Required
Essential Requirements
✔ Previous experience supporting adults with brain injuries, neurological conditions, learning disabilities, or complex care needs
✔ Experience providing personal care
✔ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
✔ Compassionate, patient, and person-centred approach
✔ Ability to work independently and use initiative
✔ Confident supporting individuals in the community
✔ Full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle
