Brain Injury Support Worker
Location: Rhyl
Hours: Mon, Wed & Fri – either 10-3pm or 11=4pm
Plus Sat OR Sun – depending on activities
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Brain Injury Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our client, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.
Due to role responsibilities, you must have a full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the client’s car.
About the Client:
Our client is a male in his 20’s with a brain injury, following a road traffic accident.
Whilst independent and managing his own personal care and medication, encouragement and prompting may be required, as well as monitoring medication and re-ordering.
Management and completion of laundry tasks Manage, monitor and action incoming mail Management of domestic hygiene tasks (ie. Cleaning) Meal planning Shopping Meal preparation Budgeting Appropriately planning his day Appropriately planning his week Utilisation of compensatory systems / memory aids (ie. diary, whiteboard etc) Reinforcement of emotional and behavioural coping strategies Attending planned therapy appointments Making / scheduling and attending planned medical appointments Accessing the wider community
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalized care and support to our client.
- Assist with daily living activities, including accompanying client in the community and taking client to appointments.
- Prompting and encouraging personal care
- Monitoring and re-ordering medication
- Management of domestic tasks, including laundry, meal planning and prep, cleaning
- Monitoring and actioning incoming mail, supporting with administration and budgeting.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, reinforcing emotional and behavioural coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- Experience in a similar role, preferably with brain injury experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work the specified hours.
- Valid UK driver's license.
