We have an excellent opportunity for a support worker to work alongside our client in Torquay, Devon
Our client is a man in his 50s who has complex needs, including schizophrenia, autism and mildly challenging behaviour. He live is his own property with a 24/7 support team. He enjoys crazy golf, bowling, the cinema, seafront walks, arts and crafts, visiting the zoo and going out for food.
Due to the client’s support needs the successful candidate can be female or male, will need to have some experience working with complex needs/mental health support and possess the softer skills of being a clear communicator with the motivation and ability to engage the client to build a solid, supporting relationship.
Pay: £13.99 Per hour weekdays & £14.99 per hour weekends
Hours: 36 over three days in a two week period (Week 1 Wednesday and Thursday 08:00-20:00, Week 2 Tuesday 08:00-20:00)

Key Responsibilities:

- Supporting, and engaging with personalised routines inclusive of hoists.
- Completing daily living activities, including personal hygiene and mobility.
- Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
- Providing emotional support and companionship.
- Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
- Collaborating with a range of healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
- A genuine passion for working with people and providing care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, patient and empathetic nature.
- Reliability, commitment and flexibility.
- Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in complex care.
- To be able to deal with challenging behaviours.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
